NKBA 30 Under 30 to be featured at KBIS next January in Las Vegas.

RICHMOND,VA, OCTOBER 1, 2014 — Alex Van Nuys has been selected as one of the 30 Under 30 recipients by The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show 2015 (KBIS®), to be held January 20-22 in Las Vegas.

“We are excited to present our 30 Under 30 young professionals at KBIS 2015 for the third year in a row,” says Nancy Barnes, NKBA Director of Learning. “The program launch in 2013 was a huge success with the group, which included enthusiastic entrepreneurs, forward-thinking CEOs, and cutting-edge designers who are all still in their 20s.”

The goal of the NKBA 30 Under 30 Program is to acknowledge outstanding young professionals, while helping these individuals to immerse and apply themselves to new opportunities for growth and development in support of the industry.

Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Housing and Resource Management with a focus in Kitchen and Bath design from the NKBA-Accredited Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). In her senior year she placed in the top 10 national student GE Charette competition. After graduating in 2011, Alex worked in northern Virginia for a kitchen design company. In spring of 2013 she moved to Richmond, VA and became our design consultant.

Alex now works on a variety of projects including kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor living spaces, and additions. Taking a customer’s house and turning it into their dream home is Alex’s favorite part of the job. She does this by combining the latest trends with the customers’ personal style, making sure they’ll enjoy the space for years to come. She believes educating potential customers is critical to being successful and does so by writing e-newsletter articles, presenting at seminars, and sharing project video updates on the company’s blog.

“It is an honor to be recognized with the other recipients. I look forward to collaborating with them and learning as much as I can at KBIS in January,” says Alex.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, the group of 30 young professionals will present their findings on the Las Vegas show floor in a presentation for KBIS 2015 show attendees. They will share the results of their explorations and answer questions from the audience.
