Reflecting on 40 Years of Lane Homes

The story of Lane Homes is deeply rooted in family. Founded in 1984 by Edward’s father, Ed III, the business has steadily grown to become a local cornerstone of quality and creativity. In 2011, the company faced a defining moment when Edward’s father was diagnosed with cancer. During this challenging time, Edward stepped up and took charge of the company; he helped the Lane team continue to evolve while his father focused on recovery.

“This was a pivotal chapter for both our family and the business,” Edward recalls. “It strengthened our commitment to one another and to the work we do for our clients. Those values of resilience and excellence continue to guide us today.”

Thankfully, Ed III overcame his battle with cancer and is enjoying retirement in Florida with his wife, Catherine.

Since taking the helm, Edward has carried forward his father’s legacy while introducing innovative approaches to home remodeling. Lane Homes and Remodeling is a design/build firm that specializes in creating spaces that reflect the unique lifestyles of their clients. Whether it’s a modern kitchen redesign or a full home transformation, Lane wants to design spaces that meet their clients’ idea of what home can be.

After celebrating their 40th year in business, Lane Homes continues to serve families throughout the greater Richmond area.
