An excessively-sized bathroom was scaled back to a jewel box powder room serving as a focal point with continued hardwood floors pointing to bold accent wallpaper.

A 1980s contemporary house on the lake had its dark, dated primary bathroom elevated to spa status. The bathroom’s bright atmosphere is achieved from a combination of natural skylights, the shower’s transom window, and multiple sources of ambient lighting spread throughout the room. An infrared sauna provides a unique, in-home rejuvenation center for the owners to center themselves before venturing out into the day’s activities.

Out in the Goochland countryside, this entire house remodel and addition was almost demolished but instead was modernized while still keeping true to its traditional origins.
